Read This First

When you become a current paid member of the Central Florida Orchid Society (only $15/year), you will receive a copy of The Tampensis newsletter every month. The Tampensis is available in paper version through the mail, or you may choose the Digital Version by downloading it from this webpage each month. All new members that provide an email address will receive it digitally automatically.

To receive (or switch to) the digital version, please email tampensis@cflorchidsociety.org and provide your name and your email address. Once a month, when the Digital Tampensis is ready, you will receive an email letting you know that the file is ready to download from this webpage (above). A quick link will be provided in the email. So with just 2 clicks, you’ll be able to download the newsletter! Please make sure that you add the above email address to your spam filtering software as a known friend so that you will receive the notification messages!

All issues before June 2006 of the Digital Tampensis are password protected. When opening the .pdf document, you will be prompted for the password. (You may be prompted to enter it twice.) The password changed with each issue and was supplied in the email notification.

Issues after June 2006 are NOT password protected.

The Digital Tampensis can be viewed using the FREE Acrobat Reader Software (current version is 8.1) available from the following website: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html Try to keep it up to date with the latest version!

Why should I Switch to the Digital Format?
The Digital Tampensis will be available to download usually around 7-10 days in advance of receiving the Print Version in the mail. Full Color Photos! And you can still Print it out to keep! It's Ecologically friendly; Save Trees! One of the most important reasons is that you’ll be helping the Society Save Money, which means we’ll be able to bring in more speakers, and do more things as a society. Volunteer to receive your Tampensis Digitally! It’s a win-win situation!

If you'd like to submit an article for the newsletter, please email it to the Corresponding Secretary by the 15th of the month to be placed in the following month's edition.

We have a Yahoo Group Email Service to help remind regular contributors to the newsletter of the submission deadline every month. If you join this Service, you will receive a reminder email every month around the 10th to remind you of the upcoming deadline on the 15th. To join this announcement only reminder list, click on the Yahoo icon below.

AOL Users
Do not use the AOL Browser to open your newsletter online. Instead, log on to the internet with your AOL account (if you have dial-up) and then minimize the AOL Window(s). Then open "Internet Explorer" or better yet, "Firefox", as your browser. "Internet Explorer" comes with Windows. So if you have Windows... you have it. Firefox is a cleaner browser, which I highly recommend. And it's a free download. Again, you should also keep your Acrobat Reader (also Free) updated to the latest version, currently 8.1!
